About
50-90% of the guys has symptoms after infection. The symptoms are milder than
in gonorrhea and
may appear 1 to 3 weeks after exposure. Possible signs:
Burning
feeling while peeing.
Watery
or pus-like discharge from the penis.
Burning
and itching around the opening of the penis.
Swollen
or tender testicles.
The
anus may itch and there
may be discharge.
It
can also cause inflammation of the lining of the eye and infect the throat from
oral contact with an infected partner.
If
left untreated it can cause infection of the epididymis.
If a guy discovers
he has chlamydia he should warn his (former) sexpartners. Girls most often don’t
know they are infected, so they are dependant on partners informing them.
