‘Double Dutch’ means that a girl uses both oral contraceptives and condoms.
The birth control pills protect her against unwanted pregnancy, while the condom protects her against STD’s.
It’s extremely safe. If 1000 girls use this method for a year only one or two will become pregnant.
Even if she forgets to take her pill once in a while, she is still protected by the condom. And if the condom breaks, she doesn’t have to worry about pregnancy, because of the oral contraceptives.
In the Netherlands 18% of the 12-18 years old go for ‘Double Dutch’.
