‘Foreplay’
traditionally refers to all sexual acts preceding intercourse.
The
term ‘foreplay’ is badly chosen. It suggests intercourse being the ‘real play,’
while every other sex act is merely an appetizer. This old fashioned notion stems
from the time that procreation was considered the main purpose of sex.
Most
girls cannot come from intercourse. For many of them ‘foreplay’ is the most important
part of sex. But there are also many guys who think intercourse is overrated and
would like their girlfriends to spend more time kissing
and caressing them.
If
climaxing through
intercourse is your main goal, you are limiting yourself. There is so much more
to sex: being together, kissing, caressing, expressing love and feeling accepted,
giving or receiving oral
sex and all the others ways of building sexual tension.
For
many people sex is more enjoyable if ‘foreplay’ is seen as the main course and
intercourse is considered the dessert.
