Genital
warts are very contagious. Having unprotected sex once with someone who has genital
warts gives you a 65% chance of getting it.
You
can prevent transmission by always using a condom.
Normally
people get infected through unprotected (anal) intercourse
or rubbing the genitals together, but you can also get it through a shared towel.
The
more sexual partners you have, the higher the risk for getting warts.
If
you notice that your partner has genital warts don’t have sex until the warts
are treated.
Never
touch the warts and then other parts of your body, for that way you may spread
them.
