When
you discover you have genital warts you must seek help immediately. If you wait
it may lead to deformity: warts clustering together to form a cauliflower-like
shape. With women warts increase the risk of cancer of the cervix.
The
sooner you start treatment, the easier. When the warts are still small they can
be treated locally by applying a cream or chemicals, freezing them, burning them
off or by laser treatment. But when they are bigger surgery is often necessary.
The
bad news is that the warts can be treated, but the viral infection itself cannot
be cured. That means the warts can always return.
