Gonorrhoea
is the oldest known STD.
It’s caused by a bacterium and contracted through sexual contact (vaginal,
oral and
anal). Slang
terms are clap or drip.
It occurs in both guys and girls, but girls often don’t have
any symptoms or they are so mild that they do not realize they are infected.
When
girls are infected in can spread to the uterus
and fallopian
tubes, causing PID.
With guys the epididymis
and prostate may
be infected. From
the genitals it can spread to the mouth when you give oral sex. When
you have (anal) intercourse once with someone who has it, there is a 70% chance
of getting it. It’s
usually easy to cure with antibiotics. If left untreated it can leave you infertile,
cause infections in other parts of your body. Fever, skin rash and joint pain
and stiffness are possible results. Symptoms
