hormonal implant (Implanon, Norplant) is a method of
birth control.
It consists of one or more match-size rods that are placed just under the skin
of the girl’s upper arm.
It
releases daily a small amount of progestin.
It
is inserted 1 to 5 days after you had your period. After 8 hours you can rely
on Implanon and after 24 hours on Norplant. Implanon consists of one rod, while with Norplant consists
of 6.
It’s
very reliable. It’s functioning is similar to oral
contraceptives.
