Don’t pitch your expectations too high, otherwise you’ll be disappointed. You can hit it off right away, but not necessarily. A ‘real life’ encounter is completely different from chatting on internet or talking on the phone.
Don’t think about a love relationship right away, but first look at it as an opportunity to make a new friend.
Meet in a public place, for instance a restaurant or cinema. Even if you have been meeting on internet for a long time, you should bear in mind that the person may not be who or what he or she has said (bad intentions, less nice, married, older, etc.). So never go to the person’s home and don’t get into the person’s car if you meet for the first time. Meet in a public place where you can leave easily.
Let someone (your parents, a friend) know where you are going, who you’ll meet and when you will return. Keep in touch to let the other person know what’s happening. Never do anything you are unsure about.
