The orgasmic platform is the swelling or thickening of the tissues of the outer third of the vagina, as you can see on the drawing.



·        This happens during the plateau phase of sexual excitement.
·        The inner part of the vagina expands, while the vaginal entrance narrows by 30% or more.
·        Because the size of the opening becomes smaller there is a gripping of the penis. This is one of the reasons penis size is not that important to a woman’s physical stimulation during intercourse: because the entrance becomes smaller there is often a tight fit.
