There
are various hormonal methods of birth
control that use only progestin:
The mini-pill:
28 tablets which you have to take every day at the same time. Depo-Provera:
an injection with hormones, to be repeated every three months.
Intra Uterine System:
device placed in the uterus which continuously releases a small amount of progestin.
A hormonal implant,
consisting of one or more match-size rods that are placed in the upper arm, daily
releasing
a small amount of progestin. When you use only
progestin your periods
are likely to become irregular. Some girls stop menstruating altogether.
