I have had a relationship for 2 years and really would like a child, but is 18 not too young?

Eighteen is indeed young to have a child, but it is not exceptional. But before you take a decision think it through. Are you really ready to have a child? Are you mature enough? Is your relationship stable enough? Is your boyfriend ready to become a father? How about your education or your work? Do you have your own income and appropriate housing? Bear in mind that raising a child is a big responsibility. The child is completely dependant on you: you have to provide care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Most girls of 18 are not prepared for this. They need more time for themselves. But people differ. So you can only determine yourself how this is with you. What might help you to make a decision is having small kids stay with you for a few days, getting a feel for what it entails. Also talk with young mothers to see what they have to say about the subject. I wish you success making this important decision.
