Sexual
abuse is forcing someone to perform or endure certain sexual actions.
Both girls and guys can be the perpetrator or victim.
How can you reduce the risk of being sexually abused?
Never
go home with someone you hardly know, even if the person looks really
nice.
If
a guys asks to bring you home after a night out it may seem safe but isn’t
if you don’t really know him. Seek another way to return home safely.
Know
what you want sexually and what you don’t want. If anyone passes your
limits speak up. Sexual abuse often starts with small things you don’t
like but seem too unimportant to take seriously. It grows from bad to
worse.
Many
expect perpetrators to be strangers, but most of the time it are insiders,
for instance a brother, aunt, boyfriend or teacher.
Don’t
leave any room for misunderstandings, but clearly state your limits. If
you don’t want something say so. Let go of the idea that you have to be
charming.
Are
you attacked offer strong resistance: scream for help and fight.
