If
you have a vaginistic reaction it might be a
good idea to seek help. By talking about it with a sexologist you might
get some insight into the problem. But insight is not always necessary
to solve vaginismus. You can also try solving
it yourself first. By ‘exercising’ you must learn how to relax the muscles
around your vagina:
Choose
a time when you are relaxed and nothing else needs to be done and choose
a place where you will not be disturbed.
Undress
and look at your vulva
with a mirror. Try to locate the different parts, drawing your lips
apart: the outer lips, the inner lips, the clitoris,
the pee hole,
the vaginal
opening. If you have strong negative feelings, take your time to get
relaxed. Try again the next day. It may take some time before the anxiety
that is caused by looking at your vulva disappears.
Find
your love muscles and practise these. For these PC-muscles are the ones
you tighten, making it impossible to insert a tampon,
a finger or have intercourse.
